PATTAYA, Thailand – A 17-year-old boy expressed deep gratitude after Pattaya rescue volunteers braved heavy rain and dark sea conditions to retrieve his mobile phone lost at a depth of more than three meters near a local fishing pier. At 00:30 on June 12, Sawang Boriboon received an emergency call requesting assistance after a mobile phone fell into the sea near the fish pier in Soi 12, Naklua.

Rescue teams, equipped with diving gear, were immediately dispatched to the scene to assist. Upon arrival, officers found 17-year-old Teerawat, the owner of the phone, standing anxiously at the location under steady rainfall. Rescue personnel assessed sea conditions, including water depth and visibility, which was estimated at more than three meters. Despite challenging conditions at night, with rain, waves, and limited underwater visibility, experienced rescue divers proceeded with the search operation.

After an intensive underwater search, rescuers successfully located and retrieved an OPPO Reno 12 Pro smartphone valued at over 10,000 baht from the seabed, bringing great relief to the teenager.

The owner said the phone had accidentally fallen into the sea while he was fishing by the pier. He initially attempted to search for it himself for more than two hours but was unsuccessful, leading him to seek help from rescue officials. “I thought I had lost it forever. I felt hopeless, but when the rescuers found it, I was extremely relieved and grateful,” he said, expressing heartfelt thanks to the rescue team for their dedication.
