PATTAYA, Thailand – A local restaurant marked Thailand’s National Mother’s Day on August 12 by giving away free meals and essential household goods to residents, helping ease everyday expenses for local families. The activity was organized by Pu Yai Note Restaurant in recognition of Mother’s Day, which also coincides with the birthday of the wife of village headman Note, restaurant owner Wichat Thongsri. The organizers said they wanted to use the occasion to share happiness and give something back to the local community.

Organizers prepared 100 sets of khanom jeen (Thai rice noodle with curry), along with stir-fried basil with rice and boiled eggs. Residents also received everyday essentials including eggs, instant noodles, canned fish and drinking water, all provided free of charge. The organizers said the initiative was intended to help reduce household expenses while expressing care and goodwill toward people in the community.

Residents gradually arrived throughout the activity to collect the food and supplies, creating a warm atmosphere of sharing on the national holiday. The organizers said acts of kindness do not need to involve large amounts of money or expensive donations. Even small contributions made according to each person’s ability can help others, create happiness and strengthen the community.
