PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, known as “Mayor Beer,” led city executives and department heads to Parliament to present Pattaya’s request for government subsidy funding for the 2027 fiscal year, aiming to secure support for continued city development, July 27. The delegation attended a budget clarification meeting at the Parliament building as part of the process to explain the city’s proposed projects and funding needs.
Mayor Poramet said the budget request was not simply about presenting figures, but about explaining Pattaya’s vision, priorities and the importance of receiving appropriate government support to deliver projects that directly benefit residents and visitors. The proposed funding would support development projects across several key areas, including infrastructure improvements, flood prevention, transportation, tourism development, public safety, environmental management and improving residents’ quality of life.
“Every budget allocation is an opportunity to move Pattaya forward — creating a better city for residents and a quality world-class tourism destination,” the mayor said. Pattaya City said it remains committed to ensuring that every baht received is used effectively to deliver tangible improvements, including better roads, more efficient public utilities, improved environmental conditions and enhanced services for the community. The city added that development efforts will continue without interruption, with the goal of creating a more livable Pattaya while strengthening its position as an international tourism destination.
