PATTAYA, Thailand – Mayor Poramet Ngampichet together with deputy mayors and city officials, visited the Community Health Promotion Center at Wat Boon Kanjanaram on March 10 to monitor public health services and commend local health volunteers for their dedication to community care. The delegation met with staff and village health volunteers to observe operations and discuss ongoing efforts to promote community health and support local residents.
The Community Health Promotion Center operates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, providing health services to residents in the surrounding community. In addition, staff and volunteers conduct outreach visits every Thursday to monitor residents’ health conditions and provide follow-up care. The center operates under the supervision of the Pattaya Community Medical Center at Wat Boon Kanjanaram, which provides essential medicines and medical supplies for basic treatment.
During the visit, city officials spoke with healthcare workers and village health volunteers to hear about challenges and suggestions from those working on the front lines. Feedback gathered from the meeting will be used to improve healthcare services and ensure that public health support remains accessible and effective for local communities.
Staff also raised concerns about the need for additional facilities, particularly a covered area in front of the building used for blood pressure screenings. During rainy weather, wind-driven rain often reaches the area, making it difficult to carry out health checks. Officials noted the request for additional roofing or rain protection to help ensure that screening and monitoring services can continue smoothly.
The visit highlighted the important role played by community health volunteers in supporting Pattaya’s public health system and ensuring that residents receive consistent care and health monitoring.
