PATTAYA, Thailand – Two people suffered serious injuries after a Honda City crashed into a roadside tree at the Wan Phen curve in Bang Saray, Sattahip district, south of Pattaya, early on October 31. Police were alerted at around 6.30am to the accident on Road 332, near the J intersection towards Kasemphon, and requested emergency assistance for two people trapped inside the wreckage. Rescue workers, medical teams from Abhakorn Kiattiwong Hospital and Sattahip Hospital, and disaster prevention personnel from local municipalities joined the operation.

The grey Honda City had veered off the road into roadside bushes before slamming into a tree. The impact left the vehicle badly damaged, trapping the male driver and a female passenger inside.

Rescuers used hydraulic cutting equipment to free both occupants, completing the operation in about 10 minutes.

The 30-year-old driver, identified as Churuek, suffered deep cuts to his chest and both legs, along with multiple abrasions. The woman, whose identity was not immediately known, sustained a deep cut to her right knee and a suspected deformity to her left arm.

Both were given first aid before being rushed to the emergency department at Queen Sirikit Hospital, Naval Medical Department. Police initially suspected that excessive speed may have caused the driver to lose control, but the exact cause remains under investigation. Officers plan to question both occupants when their conditions improve.
