PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya has been given a reminder of the challenges ahead as heavy storms continue to sweep through the city, bringing sudden flooding, stranded vehicles and disruption to daily life. The heavy rainfall on July 24 quickly overwhelmed several areas, with floodwaters affecting Sukhumvit Road, the railway road, Soi Khao Noi, Soi Khao Talo and Pattaya Third Road. Dozens of vehicles were left struggling through flooded streets, with some drivers forced to abandon their journeys.
The latest flooding highlights the need for continued preparation as Pattaya enters the heart of the rainy season, which typically brings frequent heavy downpours through October. While city crews continue improving drainage systems and responding to flooded areas, residents and visitors are being reminded that sudden storms can quickly create dangerous road conditions. With more rain expected in the coming months, motorists are advised to plan ahead, avoid known flood-prone routes and stay alert during periods of severe weather.
