PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya officials are exploring pop-up night markets, art and craft activities and new public events to give the city more colour and broaden its appeal to residents and tourists.

Deputy Mayors Damrongkiat Pinijkarn and Krisana Boonsawat co-chaired a meeting on October 26 at Pattaya City Hall to review progress on municipal policies covering tourism, sports, culture and the city’s public image.

Working group members presented ideas for bringing more activity to public spaces, creating opportunities for vendors and local artists to showcase their products and work, and giving visitors more choices for leisure and entertainment. Proposals included pop-up night markets and art and craft events, which could add variety to Pattaya’s visitor experience while providing platforms for entrepreneurs and creative businesses.

The meeting also discussed improving publicity and information sharing so residents and tourists can more easily find out about events and activities. Officials stressed the importance of coordination among relevant agencies to ensure initiatives support the city’s wider development plans.
