Pattaya Council approves key projects as city pushes ahead with infrastructure upgrades

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City Council has approved a series of key development projects and budget measures, signaling continued efforts to upgrade infrastructure and improve public services across the city.

The meeting held on March 26, chaired by Council President Banlue Kullawanich at Pattaya City Hall, brought together city executives led by Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, council members, and senior officials to review progress and discuss pressing urban issues.



Among the topics raised, council members questioned the progress of sidewalk improvement works along Pattaya Second and Third Roads. Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai reported that the project is now more than 70 percent complete and is expected to be finished by May 2026.

Flood prevention was also a key concern ahead of the rainy season, with officials confirming that drainage systems across Pattaya are being cleared and upgraded to improve water flow and reduce the risk of flooding on major and secondary roads.

The council also approved several major budget items, including:

  • Funding of over 20 million baht to upgrade the grandstand roof structure at the Eastern National Sports Stadium to enhance safety and usability.
  • A long-term budget commitment of more than 19 million baht over 36 months for the lease of 25 central-use vehicles to improve administrative efficiency.

Officials emphasized that the council meeting plays a vital role in local governance, providing a platform for debate, oversight, and addressing public concerns, as Pattaya continues its push toward sustainable urban development.
