PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya municipal enforcement officers, working together with special affairs officials, have carried out a continued inspection and enforcement operation along Pattaya Beach to address the unauthorized occupation of public space, June 15. Authorities targeted individuals allegedly renting out beach mats and chairs to tourists on public beachfront areas without official permission, a practice that is considered a violation of municipal regulations governing public space usage. During the operation, officers inspected multiple points along the beachfront and identified equipment believed to be used for unlicensed rental services, including mats and seating items placed directly on public sand areas.

Officials stated that such activities contribute to the encroachment of public space, restrict free access for beachgoers, and affect the overall orderliness of the tourist area. They emphasized that beaches are public property and must remain accessible for shared use by residents and visitors.

All items identified as part of the alleged unauthorized operations were seized and transported to the Pattaya municipal enforcement center at City Hall. The goods will be processed according to legal procedures, including potential fines and further action under relevant regulations. City officials reiterated that enforcement will continue as part of ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness, safety, and fairness in the use of public beach areas, particularly in high-traffic tourist zones.

They also urged vendors and the public to comply with regulations and avoid occupying or commercializing public spaces without authorization, stressing that orderly management of beach areas is essential for sustainable tourism. The operation is part of Pattaya’s broader initiative to ensure that public beaches remain open, accessible, and properly regulated for all users.
