PATTAYA, Thailand – City officials have welcomed a senior representative from Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss ways to improve consular services and strengthen support for foreign tourists in the coastal city.
At City Hall on April 24, Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, together with senior city officials, received Ms. Vorrapannee Damrongmanee, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.
The meeting focused on enhancing coordination between Pattaya City and central government agencies to improve consular assistance, streamline services for foreign visitors, and ensure faster and more efficient responses in cases involving tourists.
Officials discussed mechanisms to strengthen inter-agency cooperation, aiming to improve service delivery standards and provide more convenient support systems for both Thai citizens and international visitors in Pattaya.
The initiative is seen as part of broader efforts to support the city’s growing tourism sector, while also reinforcing confidence among visitors through better administrative readiness and emergency response coordination.
Authorities said the collaboration marks an important step in upgrading Pattaya’s tourism infrastructure and public service framework, ensuring the city remains well-prepared to handle increasing numbers of international arrivals.
