PATTAYA, Thailand – Police are investigating the murder of an unidentified woman whose body was discovered stuffed in a suitcase and weighted down with dumbbell plates totaling 15 kg at a reservoir in Huai Yai, Bang Lamung district on September 4. Authorities estimate the victim had been dead for at least five days.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatkiat Jindakwansanong, Chonburi Provincial Police Commander, together with senior investigators and the Huai Yai police chief, revealed preliminary autopsy results. The victim, believed to be a foreign national, is an Asian woman approximately 30–35 years old, 162 cm tall, with fair skin. She had undergone cosmetic surgery, including breast augmentation with silicone implants labeled in Chinese, as well as facial procedures on her nose and chin. No matches were found in Thailand’s fingerprint database.
The police are coordinating with immigration authorities and the Ministry of Interior to confirm her identity. The cause of death has been preliminarily ruled as asphyxiation.
Authorities are also examining potential links to a similar case in Ban Chang, Rayong, noting similarities such as using dumbbells to weigh down the victim in a suitcase. However, they caution that the perpetrator could be mimicking previous crimes. Investigators urge the public to come forward with any tips regarding suspects or evidence found at the scene.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatkiat said the investigation is progressing, and authorities hope to have positive leads soon.
