Always searching for a sign of good fortune, lottery gamblers flocked to a Sattahip coconut tree which they claimed looks like a Naga’s head.
The 8-month-old tree is located in the backyard of the Soi Khao Petch home of Somsak Nukajad, 56. He said he noticed about a month ago that the tree had been growing into the shape of the semidivine half-man, half-cobra.
He tied three colorful pieces of cloth around the tree and prayed to it for luck and prosperity.
When Somsak’s neighbors found out, however, they all crowded into his mulberry garden with baht signs in their eyes, studying the tree and praying for lucky numbers for the next government lottery.
