PATTAYA, Thailand – A local company has donated 100 safety helmets to Pattaya police to help promote safer motorcycle riding and encourage residents and tourists to wear helmets every time they take to the road. The donation was made on August 12, National Mother’s Day, at Pattaya City Police Station by MTH Sophon Siam Safety Co., Ltd., led by company director Chaiyut Hengtrakul. The helmets will be distributed to members of the public and tourists under Pattaya Police’s 100% Motorcycle Helmet Safety Campaign.
The campaign has been running since late December 2025, aiming to raise awareness of helmet use and reduce the severity of injuries caused by motorcycle accidents. Pol. Lt. Col. Amorntep Maima, traffic inspector at Pattaya City Police Station, joined traffic officers to receive the donation. He said the campaign has already distributed more than 500 helmets to the public, with the latest 100 helmets providing additional support during the final stage of the program.
The campaign is scheduled to continue through September 2026, after which police will evaluate its results and consider future measures to improve motorcycle safety in Pattaya. Chaiyut said the donation was intended to mark Mother’s Day through a practical community contribution, combining merit-making with efforts to improve road safety. He said he hoped the helmets would be put to good use and help reduce the risks faced by motorcycle riders on Pattaya’s roads. The initiative also highlights the role local businesses can play in supporting public safety, with cooperation between the private sector and police helping put more protective equipment in the hands of riders and visitors.
