PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is set to experience hot daytime conditions with the chance of isolated thunderstorms, as much of Thailand enters a period of intense heat and hazy skies, according to the Meteorological Department.

While the worst of the haze continues to affect northern and northeastern regions, the eastern seaboard — including Pattaya — is seeing generally hot weather, with temperatures rising during the day and occasional thunderstorms bringing brief relief.

Forecasters say the heat is being driven by a low-pressure system covering upper Thailand, combined with weak southerly and southwesterly winds. This is creating hot, hazy conditions across large parts of the country, with some areas experiencing extreme heat.

In Pattaya and surrounding areas, residents and visitors can expect hot and humid days, with the possibility of sudden rain and gusty winds in some locations. While air quality remains better than in the north, hazy conditions may still be noticeable at times.

Looking ahead over the next week (March 31 – April 6), similar weather patterns are expected to continue. Upper Thailand will remain hot to very hot with occasional storms, while the south — including coastal areas — will see scattered thunderstorms early in the period before conditions become slightly drier.

Authorities are advising people to take precautions against the heat, including avoiding prolonged outdoor activity, staying hydrated, and being alert to sudden weather changes such as thunderstorms and strong winds.

Farmers are also being urged to protect crops and livestock from potential damage caused by gusty winds and unstable weather.
