PATTAYA, Thailand – An early morning routine at the Pattaya Youth Sports Center on Thepprasit Road took a shocking turn when a 2.5-metre-long snake was discovered coiled on a mid-sized palm tree in the leisure zone, startling users on the running track and prompting an emergency response from firefighters. At approximately 7:05 a.m. on July 2, the Pattaya Fire Station (Jomtien Division) dispatched rapid response vehicle 407 along with trained reptile-handling officers to the sports complex after receiving reports of the large snake.
Witnesses said the snake’s presence on the palm tree in the leisure area caused alarm among morning joggers and walkers using the track, before staff alerted emergency services. Firefighters quickly located the reptile and safely captured it using specialized snake-handling equipment. The operation was completed without injury to people or the animal. Authorities advised the public to avoid approaching snakes if encountered and to contact emergency services or trained wildlife handlers for safe removal. For emergency assistance, the public can contact the Pattaya City Fire Station (Jomtien District) at 095-146-4221 or the Pattaya City Hall Hotline 1337.
