PATTAYA, Thailand – Mayor Poramet Ngampichet welcomed H.E. Nicola Pollitt, British Ambassador to Thailand, to Pattaya City Hall on October 5 for discussions on tourist safety, consular assistance and cooperation in supporting British nationals living in or visiting the city. The ambassador was accompanied by British Consul Joanne Finnamore-Crorkin, British Honorary Consul in Pattaya George Barrie and senior officials from the British Embassy in Bangkok.

During the visit, Mayor Poramet presented the ambassador with a symbolic “Key to the City” as a gesture of friendship and an official welcome to Pattaya. Discussions covered assistance for British nationals, road accidents, cannabis-related concerns, and economic and tourism matters. Both sides explored ways to strengthen coordination in responding to incidents affecting British residents and visitors.

Mayor Poramet said the safety of residents and tourists remained a priority for Pattaya. He highlighted the city’s CCTV network, which enables authorities to monitor key areas around the clock and supports crime prevention, emergency response and assistance to visitors. He also reaffirmed Pattaya City’s readiness to work with relevant agencies and the British Embassy to provide effective assistance to British nationals and strengthen confidence among international visitors.
The meeting underscored the importance of continued cooperation between Pattaya and the United Kingdom in promoting visitor welfare and a safe, welcoming tourism environment.
