Escape tunnel can’t save accused Sattahip drug dealer


Sattahip officials arrested an accused drug dealer who admitted to using a secret tunnel to repeatedly evade arrest.

Somsak Nakchan, 45, was taken into custody at a car park in Huay Yai after witnesses pointed police and district officers to a hideout where he allegedly sold methamphetamines. He was captured with 20 ya ba tablets.

Police said Somsak admitted to having purchased 200 pills and selling 180 of them before authorities arrived.

He said he long had operated from the hideout at the parking lot, which was connected to a tunnel with numerous locked rooms attached where he often hid from police looking for him.
