A disabled German man escaped death after either falling from the fourth floor of a Walking Street-area hotel.

Martin Theuniden, 49, was found fully clothed and unconscious around 5 a.m. March 5 at a Second Road hotel near Soi 16. Theuniden suffered a head wound and broken arm and has since been released from Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

Police said Theuniden, whose left arm and right leg were impaired since birth, has been living at the hotel for several months. Hotel staffers reported that he did not drink.

Police speculate the German fell from his balcony, as there was no evidence of foul play in his room, but did not rule out that he might have been pushed.
