A CCTV clip from a Pattaya South apartment shows a man allegedly stealing more than 20 pieces of clothing, including underwear, after arriving on a motorcycle and briefly bowing before taking items hung outside a room.
PATTAYA, Thailand – A CCTV clip shared on social media has shown a man allegedly stealing clothing, including underwear, from outside an apartment room in South Pattaya, prompting residents to issue warnings about safety and suspicious behavior in the area. On June 17, a Facebook user posted a 1-minute 40-second CCTV recording in a local online group, claiming it captured a thief taking more than 20 clothing items from a residential property on Pattaya Third Road. The post, which quickly drew attention online, warned residents about a suspect described as acting unusually “polite,” as he was seen briefly raising his hands in a wai gesture before committing the theft. The user urged others to help identify the individual and warned locals to be cautious. According to the post, the stolen items included both new and used clothing, approximately 20 pieces in total, along with two sets of sleepwear. The victim also claimed the suspect left behind part of one outfit.
CCTV footage reportedly shows a Thai man of average build wearing a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and a motorcycle helmet covering his face. He is seen arriving on a motorcycle, parking near the apartment, and walking toward the front area where clothes were hung to dry. The suspect then appears to carefully select clothing items before leaving the scene. The victim, described as a female couple, reportedly chose not to give an interview and had not yet filed a formal police complaint at the time of reporting. However, they shared the video online as a warning to nearby residents due to concerns about similar incidents and uncertainty over the suspect’s motives. The incident remains under public attention as residents debate whether the act was purely theft or linked to unusual personal behavior, while authorities have yet to confirm whether an official investigation has been launched.
