BANGKOK, Thailand – A Spanish tourist was reunited with his lost waist bag containing his passport after Don Mueang Tourist Police traced his journey and coordinated with a taxi driver to recover the missing belongings. On July 27, at around 6:00 a.m., the Spanish traveler approached Don Mueang Tourist Police to report that he had lost a waist bag containing his passport and personal belongings. He was unsure whether he had left the bag at his hotel or inside a taxi he had used.
Officers first contacted The Grand Sathorn Hotel, where the tourist had been staying, to check whether the bag had been left behind. Hotel staff confirmed that no such item had been found. Tourist Police then coordinated with the airport’s CCTV team to review the traveler’s movements. The footage showed that he had traveled in a taxi with registration number 1กข 8680 Bangkok, allowing officers to identify the vehicle involved.
Officers contacted the taxi driver and requested a search of the vehicle. The driver later confirmed that the missing waist bag had been found inside the taxi. The driver was asked to bring the bag to Don Mueang Airport, where it was returned to the Spanish tourist. After checking that all belongings, including his passport, were safely inside, the traveler expressed his appreciation and thanked Tourist Police for their assistance.
