Mayor Poramet Ngampichet is in the spotlight as he inspects the ongoing work to install 550 new LED street lamps to brighten up the Sukhumvit-Central Road underpass.

Pattaya, Thailand – Pattaya Mayor, Poramet Ngamphichet, accompanied by Pattaya City officials, visited the Central Pattaya Intersection on July 12 to oversee the progress and expedite the installation of new streetlights in the Sukhumvit-Central Road underpass. The old, dim and decaying lights posed hazards and increasing risk of accidents.

The mayor confirmed that funds were allocated by Pattaya City to address the issue. He said that, initially, one hundred lamps were replaced, but it became evident that additional lights were needed. As a result, Pattaya City initiated a bidding process to procure an additional 550 LED energy efficient lamps.

Mayor Poramet said, “Pattaya City is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and visitors. The installation of the new streetlights will significantly improve visibility and enhance road safety at the bustling Central Pattaya Intersection.”

To facilitate the installation, one lane of the inbound side from Sattahip at the Sukhumvit-Central Pattaya underpass was closed on Wednesday July 12, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Today, work is in progress on the inbound side towards Chonburi, similarly necessitating the closure of one lane.
