Many issues with probate

Re: Preparing for the inevitable (PM Mailbag Friday, 20 March 2015) – Many issues arrive when dealing with probate. Most of our clients have bank accounts in different countries and so different laws apply. For example a notorised document from Thailand is not necessarily recognised by another country. Some countries only accept a document that has an appostille stamp. This means a trip to the Foreign Affairs department to have the document translated and stamped and then off to the embassy of the country that needs the document for the appostille stamp, then all the documents need to be couriered to the country where the bank account is.
