PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is experiencing a strong surge in international arrivals and tourism spending during the peak Songkran period, with both tourists and foreign currency inflows contributing to a vibrant and energetic atmosphere across the city’s beachfront and key commercial zones.

The Thai baht has remained relatively stable in recent trading, moving within a projected range of 31.70–32.70 baht per US dollar this week, supported by continued foreign fund inflows and improving global risk sentiment. Analysts note that regional currencies, including the baht, have benefited from lower global oil prices and easing geopolitical tensions, helping to maintain investor confidence.

Foreign investors have also remained net buyers of Thai equities and bonds, providing additional support to the currency, while markets continue to watch global economic data releases and central bank policy signals from major economies.

In Pattaya, the stable currency environment is helping reinforce a positive backdrop for the ongoing Songkran holiday period, with strong tourism activity and busy beachfront celebrations. Hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues are reporting steady visitor spending as both domestic and international tourists continue to arrive in large numbers.

Tourists from China, India, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Australia are among the key groups contributing to the influx, reflecting Pattaya’s position as a global tourism hub that attracts a diverse mix of short-haul and long-haul markets during peak holiday seasons.

Currency exchange booths along Pattaya Beach Road have also seen increased activity, as visitors convert foreign currencies to support spending on food, entertainment, and Songkran water festivities.

As Wan Lai Pattaya approaches on April 19, expectations remain high for continued strong visitor momentum, with the city preparing for one of the busiest phases of the Songkran celebrations.
