PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya welcomed hundreds of Thai and international runners to the 4th Pattaya Trail 2026 on Sunday, reinforcing the city’s ambition to become a leading sports tourism destination while generating economic activity for local businesses. The event was officially opened on August 2 at the Blue Activity Area at Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya by Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai and Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawat, alongside city executives, Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization council members and government officials.
Chookiat Nongyai, President of the Pattaya Running Association, said this year’s race attracted strong participation from both local and overseas runners, creating a lively atmosphere and highlighting Pattaya’s growing appeal as a venue for sporting events. The competition featured two race categories—5 kilometers and 10 kilometers—designed to accommodate runners of all abilities, from beginners to experienced trail runners. Following the opening ceremony, officials joined participants on the course before awards were presented to winners in each category.
Organizers said the annual Pattaya Trail has become an important sporting event that not only encourages healthy lifestyles but also supports tourism, stimulates local spending and strengthens Pattaya’s vision of becoming a premier Sports City through year-round sporting events.
