Pattaya showcased classic Thai arts and sport on the beach to boost tourism on Valentine’s Day weekend.
Deputy Mayor Banlue Kullavanijaya opened the Feb. 14-15 Pattaya Cultural Show Project, which featured traditional dancing, cultural shows, Muay Thai boxing, fruit carving, painting and pottery.
The show was staged to cater to extra tourists in town for the romantic holiday and Burapa Bike Week, but also aligns with tourism officials’ plans to stage more cultural events to draw Thai visitors to offset the loss of Chinese tour groups.
