In the aftermath of the quake/tsunami catastrophe which tore into the countryside of northern Japan claiming thousands of lives and causing unimaginable destruction, Pattaya City put out a call for citizens to send aid and set up many donation points in the city for people to donate funds to help the unfortunate victims. On March 25, at Pattaya City Hall representatives of public and private organizations presented a sum of 357,520 baht to Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome to be sent to Japan to help in the relief efforts.

Earth Hour has done a lot to raise awareness of sustainability issues. It’s all about giving people a voice and working together to create a better future for our planet. Holiday Inn Pattaya has proven that turning off the lights for just 1 hour they saved up to 18 times the amount of energy that the hotel regularly uses during the same hour on other days. Lights were turned off in the restaurants and the lobby area.
