Government confirms sufficient budget to aid Thai people

Prof. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Government Spokesperson, clarified Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha’s press statement about COVID-19 financial subsidy that the first-month subsidy has been specially allocated from the FY2020 annual budget, while financial aid for the following months will be taken from the fund stipulated under the Royal Decree for 1-Trillion Baht Loan, which is now being deliberated, and is expected to be enforced at the end of April. The loan could be disbursed around early May.


The Government Spokesperson stressed that the Prime Minister did not mean that the national budget has been exhausted nor the Government would provide the subsidy for only one month. He simply disclosed financial aid procedure in detail for the public to have a good grasp of what is going on. The Government Spokesperson affirmed sufficiency of the budget to be utilized as remedy for people of all walks of life, and emphasized that the Prime Minister is very concerned and commits to put utmost effort to alleviate people’s plights in a comprehensive manner. (Thaigov.go.th)
