BANGKOK, 26 April 2012  – The government is ready to spend several millions of baht on the PR campaign related to Thailand’s hosting of the World Economic Forum on East Asia.

Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Nivatthamrong Boonsongpaisal, who also chairs the sub-committee in charge of the public relations for the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia 2012, revealed on Wednesday that more than 600 leading businesspeople from around the world are set to descend in Thailand to join the event.

The WEF on East Asia is scheduled from May 30th to June 1st in Bangkok.

Mr. Nivatthamrong stated that the gathering of world businesspeople in the Thai capital will be the largest it has ever welcomed.

He added that the government hopes to take this year’s WEF on East Asia as a platform to boost international investor confidence in Thailand after it has survived the worst flood in decades last year.
