BANGKOK, 26 July 2012 – The Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) has joined hands with The Association of Thai ICT Industry (ATCI) and Chulalongkorn University to open doors for Thai software inventers.
The Director of SIPA Trairat Chatkaew has stated that due to a very small number of Thai investors in the international software market, SIPA has been continuously encouraging the Thai investors to become entrepreneurs in the software field. SIPA has recently been cooperating with the ATCI and Chulalongkorn University in opening “2012 Innovation Seeks Thai IT Tycoons” project in order to encourage new innovators and entrepreneurs throughout the country to enter the software contest. 5 finalists will receive an award of 1 million baht each.
Mr. Trairat added that in order to drive the software industry to its highest point, Thailand has to concurrently emphasize on 3 segments which include marketing, capital, and human resources. The project is initiated in Bangkok first before going to Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen.
