BANGKOK, Thailand – A man identified as “Dam Ban Tai,” also known as “Bangreen,” has surrendered to police after allegedly stabbing a 191 police officer during a violent brawl at a birthday celebration in Bangkok’s Lat Phrao area. The incident occurred on the evening of August 19 at a shrimp-fishing venue hosting a birthday party for “Ud Ratchada.” The event attracted large numbers of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts and biker groups before an argument between attendees escalated into a physical confrontation.

Videos circulated on social media showed several men arguing and pointing at each other near the event’s backdrop before the confrontation turned violent. Another clip showed a man dressed in a black T-shirt and black trousers approaching another partygoer while apparently holding an object resembling a weapon, as others attempted to intervene.

Police said the confrontation reportedly involved four groups, identified as the Tueng Ratchada, Norraseth Yon, Moo Tawanna and Nueng Bang Kapi groups. Several people reportedly tried to break up the fight. During the incident, Police Lt. Sub-Inspector Sitthichai Phet-in, attached to the Patrol and Special Operations Division and known as “Inspector Jack 191,” reportedly attempted to intervene before being attacked with a sharp object. Sitthichai suffered a wound to his torso and was taken to hospital, where he required approximately 30 stitches.

Following the incident, several acquaintances, including “Koh Tha Sai,” “Kamnan Frank,” “Som Do-Do” and “Bang Mad Khlong Tan,” reportedly visited Sitthichai at the hospital. Police have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the brawl, including the identities of those involved and the weapon allegedly used.

Authorities have initially taken legal action against the event organizer for causing a public disturbance through excessive noise. Investigators have also questioned Sitthichai and another injured man, identified as Satawat, who was treated for his injuries and released from hospital.

Police said Dam Ban Tai, or Bangreen, later surrendered to investigators at Chokchai Police Station. He is currently being questioned and has not provided comments to the media. Investigators have initially charged him with attempted murder and unlawful possession of a knife in a public place. Police are expected to seek a court order to detain him on August 22 while the investigation continues.
