BANGKOK, Thailand – The government will maintain the retail price of household liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at 423 baht per 15-kilogram cylinder and continue the Thais Help Thais Plus program to ease living costs and support economic recovery. Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek announced on August 8, 2026, that the Consumer Confidence Index rose to 50.2 in June, reaching the confidence range for the first time in four months. Although purchasing power is improving, the government recognizes that the economy remains vulnerable.
To support a stable recovery, the government is balancing efforts to increase public income, reduce expenses, and manage energy costs. The Thais Help Thais Plus program has generated about 100 billion baht in economic activity, with over 84 percent of spending occurring outside Bangkok. This directly benefits provincial communities and small retail businesses.
The Ministry of Energy has increased the LPG subsidy through the Oil Fuel Fund from 7.2209 baht to 9.8642 baht per kilogram. This measure keeps the retail price at 423 baht per 15-kilogram cylinder despite global energy price fluctuations. It supports households, restaurants, and small vendors while limiting the impact of energy costs on food, goods, and services.
Recognizing the financial impact of these energy subsidies, the government reaffirmed its commitment to prudent fiscal management.
