PHATTHALUNG, Thailand – The government is promoting Phatthalung Milk as a leading southern brand that supports Thai dairy farmers, strengthens agricultural cooperatives, and contributes to the grassroots economy. Deputy Government Spokesperson Patdarasm Thongsaluaykorn stated on August 3, 2026, that Phatthalung Milk is made from 100% cow’s milk by the Phatthalung Dairy Cooperative. Established through the national school milk project over 30 years ago, the cooperative has become a recognized regional brand, providing sustainable income for local farmers and supporting the grassroots economy.
The cooperative produces pasteurized and UHT milk, yogurt drinks, ice cream, and boiled milk. It has 64 members who manage over 1,000 dairy cows and produce an average of nine metric tons of raw milk per day. The cooperative supplies school milk to the southern provinces of Phatthalung, Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat, with 64 members managing over 1,000 dairy cows and producing an average of nine tons of raw milk daily.
In addition to the school project, the cooperative has expanded its commercial product line to include pasteurized milk, UHT milk, drinking yogurt, ice cream, and traditional boiled milk. To strengthen the national dairy cooperative network, it also purchases surplus raw milk from the Thai-Danish Ao Noi Dairy Cooperative in Prachuap Khiri Khan for school milk production, maximizing resource use. The government, through the Cooperative Promotion Department, remains committed to supporting these agricultural initiatives by providing machinery, technology, and production efficiency improvements. The Deputy Spokesperson encouraged the public to support local cooperative products such as Phatthalung Milk to strengthen the grassroots economy and ensure long-term stability for Thai dairy farmers.
