PATTAYA, Thailand – Two foreign tourists standing at Bali Hai Pier beneath a sky filled with dark clouds captured the changing mood as Pattaya faces another spell of unsettled monsoon weather, with rain expected across eastern Thailand. The latest forecast from the Meteorological Department warns that while rainfall across Thailand is expected to decrease overall, parts of the East, including Chonburi province, may still experience heavy showers in some areas.

The Eastern region is forecast to see thunderstorms covering around 60 percent of the area, with isolated heavy rain possible. Temperatures are expected to range between 22-28°C overnight and 32-34°C during the day, with southwest winds reaching 15-35 kilometres per hour. The weather agency warned residents and visitors to remain cautious of sudden heavy rainfall and accumulated water, which could lead to temporary flooding, especially in low-lying areas and locations near waterways.

For tourists heading to Koh Larn from Pattaya’s Bali Hai Pier, sea conditions should also be monitored. The upper Gulf of Thailand may experience waves of 1-2 metres, with waves higher than 2 metres possible during thunderstorms. Boat operators and passengers are advised to travel carefully and avoid sailing during periods of severe weather. Visitors are encouraged to check conditions before arranging island trips and outdoor activities. Although Pattaya continues welcoming visitors during the rainy season, the dramatic skies over Bali Hai Pier highlight how quickly coastal weather can change during the monsoon months.
