HUA HIN, Thailand – A Turkish national has been arrested in Hua Hin after overstaying his visa by 274 days, Prachuap Khiri Khan Immigration authorities confirmed on Friday, June 12. Immigration officers said the man was located in Hua Hin district and taken into custody after it was found that he had remained in Thailand well beyond the expiration of his permitted stay.

He was subsequently charged and handed over to investigators at Hua Hin Police Station for further legal proceedings. Authorities said the case forms part of an ongoing nationwide enforcement operation targeting immigration offenders and foreign-linked criminal activities across Thailand, including in key tourist and business hubs such as Phuket, Pattaya, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai. Officials stated that he now faces deportation, a monetary fine, and a potential five-year ban on re-entering Thailand in accordance with immigration laws.
