Asia Media Summit ends as Thailand’s PRD pushes AI media standards

The Asia Media Summit in the Maldives concluded with Thailand’s PRD advancing cooperation on responsible AI use in media, alongside talks on training, content exchange, and stronger regional broadcasting collaboration.

MALDIVES, Thailand – The 21st Asia Media Summit in the Maldives has concluded with Thailand’s Public Relations Department (PRD) advancing cooperation with regional media partners and promoting responsible use of artificial intelligence in communications.

PRD Director-General Sudruetai Lertkasem, serving as President of the AIBD General Conference, delivered closing remarks stressing the need for media organizations to maintain accuracy and public trust during rapid technological change.



Over the course of the summit, media executives, experts, and representatives from AIBD member countries discussed the development of an AI framework to guide responsible use in broadcasting and digital media. Participants also addressed the role of youth and content creators in maintaining accountability in the digital environment. Hosting duties for the next summit were handed to the Korean Broadcasting System.

During the event, Sudruetai held bilateral talks with representatives from Public Service Media of the Maldives and Russia Today of the Russian Federation. Discussions covered cooperation in human resource development, training in new media and AI, content exchange, and potential joint productions to expand international outreach.


The summit’s outcomes are expected to further enhance Thailand’s efforts to advance public communication standards and adapt to evolving technologies. The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development comprises 87 member organizations from 42 countries, with Thailand playing a growing role in regional media cooperation through its leadership.
