NAKHON PHANOM, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul visited the “Nakhon Phanom DNA” festival on March 29, 2026, to promote the province’s local identity as a premier “Restination” for travelers.

The Prime Minister was joined by Permanent Secretary for Interior Ansit Samphantharat and Department of Community Development Director-General Siam Sirimongkol. Nakhon Phanom Governor Acting Major Adisak Noisuwan welcomed the delegation at the Phaya Sri Sattanakarat Landmark.

The Prime Minister conducted a merit-making ceremony at the Phaya Sri Sattanakarat Naga monument before touring the event’s cultural and economic exhibits. The festival is a strategic initiative to strengthen Nakhon Phanom’s grassroots economy by highlighting its natural resources, culture, and traditions.

The “DNA Nakhon Phanom” initiative forms the province’s development as a “Restination,” or primary destination for relaxation, through five key experiences: Visit (sightseeing), Eat (local cuisine), Shop (community products), Mu (faith-based tourism), and Rest (slow-life relaxation). This integrated approach highlights the province’s unique identity, supports sustainable income for local communities, and enhances its status as a distinctive tourism destination.

The event, held from March 26 to 29, 2026, is designed to generate sustainable income for local residents by establishing Nakhon Phanom as a high-potential hub for cultural and experiential tourism. (NNT)
