Key posts, including Justice and Defense ministries, continue to attract attention as Anutin finalizes his cabinet lineup, with Bowornsak Uwanno reportedly accepting the deputy prime minister role for legal affairs.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Excitement continues at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters as well-wishers send congratulatory flowers to Thailand’s 32nd Prime Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, while his cabinet lineup remains not fully finalized.

Today, prominent figures such as Preepan Salirathavibhaga, leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, and Supakit Charoenwong, chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group, delivered floral tributes. The head of the Prachachon Party, Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, also sent a vase in white and blue tones.

Among potential cabinet members, Pradorn Prissanantakul, MP for Ang Thong and a candidate for Minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, arrived at the party with documents but confirmed he has not yet submitted his credentials for vetting.

Prime Minister Anutin has not been seen at the party today, but sources suggest he may visit a safe house to finalize cabinet arrangements. He previously stated that 99.9725% of the cabinet has been decided, leaving 0.0275% pending.

Notable developments include Bowornsak Uwanno reportedly accepting the role of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of legal affairs. The Justice Ministry remains closely watched, with former senior police officers Pol. Lt. Gen. Chanchai Pongpichit and Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphon Naowarat under consideration, though both have yet to confirm. Reports indicate Pol. Lt. Gen. Chanchai is the likely choice.

For the Defense Ministry, speculation points to an outsider, with former National Security Council Secretary General Gen. Supoj Malaniyom mentioned for the ministerial role and former permanent secretary of defense Gen. Nat Intharajaroen considered for deputy minister, representing the Palang Pracharath Party. (TNA)
