The Equitable Education Fund will disburse Conditional Equity Scholarships from July 21-24, providing financial aid for meals, supplies, uniforms, and transportation to students across over 30,000 schools.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The government is expanding its support for underprivileged students through the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), with the first round of Conditional Equity Scholarships for the 2025 academic year set to be disbursed between July 21 and 24. The program provides financial assistance to approximately 800,000 students from kindergarten through Mathayom 3 (9th grade), helping to cover basic educational costs such as meals, supplies, uniforms, and transportation.

These scholarships cover students in more than 30,000 schools under six supervisory agencies, with a total budget of 1.536 billion baht allocated annually by the government through the EEF.

Eligible students can receive support for up to three academic years, with financial amounts ranging from 1,000 to 7,200 baht per year, depending on their level of schooling and household income status. Recipients must maintain a minimum school attendance rate of 85 percent and demonstrate developmental progress consistent with Ministry of Public Health standards. In 2024, the program supported 1.34 million students with a school retention rate of 97.88 percent.

To expand outreach, the OBEC CARE system is being developed to help identify at-risk students through multi-dimensional screening. Piloted in 1,136 schools and covering over 280,000 students, the system is expected to be expanded nationwide in the 2025 academic year, supporting early intervention for students at risk of dropping out during key transition points in their education.

Teachers can submit data for newly eligible students through the EEF’s online system at https://cct.eef.or.th now through July 21. The list of approved students will be announced on August 21.
