ISP students learn the fun and love of music

Young musicians prepare for annual concert

During their music lessons, all ISP junior students learned to play the recorder. Breathing control, reading scores, playing in an ensemble and rehearsing a couple of songs make ISP’s music lessons challenging for the young musicians.

At the end of the school year students will show their talents at the annual school concert. But most important is to discover the fun and love of music. Hence music will be with you for all your life.

Ready, steady, cook at the Regent’s

The regular Saturday evening barbecue is an almost permanent fixture on the calendar for boarding students at The Regent’s School. Recently, however, instead of helping themselves to the usual delicious spread supplied by the school’s dining room, boarders spent Saturday ‘going it alone’.

Students were set the task of producing their own barbecue dinner. After considerable planning and a trip to the shops the serious business of preparing the food got underway. Provided with barbecues and some basic cooking tools the teams went on to produce meals described by Mr Tony Mallia, head of boarding, as “not just edible, but mouthwatering!”

Everyone really enjoyed the experience - particularly the gourmet results - and the project is sure to be repeated!

Blind Children receive a special lunch

Staff and customers of the Queen Victoria Inn and Charlies Bar, both on Soi Yodsak, recently visited the children of the Pattaya Blind School and treated them to a surprise Sunday lunch.

After loading a couple of baht buses with food and people, the group trotted off to the Redemptorist Center School for the Blind to present the youngsters with a hearty lunch, which was graciously served by the staff from both venues.

Bert Elson, manager of the Queen Vic said, “Charlie suggested the idea and we also provided what was needed. The girls were taken aback and were kept busy serving the ice cream.”

It was noted the that all the kids had a great time and a great meal, and the highlight of course being loads of ice cream, which everyone tucked into to cool off after running around making sure the kids received their fair share of food and ice cream.
