The Russian couple, who didn’t give police their names, said they had been looking at the moon on Valentines night, enjoying the light breeze, feeling romantic whilst drinking wine, when they fell asleep.
At around 4.30 a.m. Feb. 15, a witness saw 3 Thai men stealthily removing the couple’s belongings. The witness called the police, but by the time police arrived the thieves were long gone.
This Russian couple learned the hard way that Pattaya Beach is no place to get drunk and pass out.
The couple had no idea they had just been robbed until police woke them. After a quick check, they said that 3,000 baht, 2 mobile phones, a pink bag and 1 camera were missing.
The officers brought the couple to Pattaya police station to record the robbery, but were having difficulty gathering information as the couple was crying and did not inform the officers their name. They did say, however, that they regretted getting drunk and asked the officers if they will ever get their belongings back.
