Subject to his orders were officers from the Pattaya Tourist Police, Immigration Police, Department of Special Investigations, 14th Military Circle, Narcotics Control Board for Region 2 and the Sattahip Naval Base. Area civil-defense volunteers and volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation also attended.
Police want to try and coordinate the many agencies assembled to try and cut crime and drug use using random street checkpoints and security booths. They also pledged crackdowns on entertainment venues for violations related to closing times, indecency and minors.
Punya also told officers to be vigilant against anyone gambling, shooting off fireworks illegally, using telephones while driving or speeding.
