Police officers and volunteers said goodbye to Pattaya Police Superintendent Nanthawut Suwanla-Ong and five other top commanders who have been re-assigned in law enforcement’s annual reshuffle.

About 50 people turned out for the April 8 party at the Soi 9 station, offering flowers to the police chief and his top lieutenants, Lt. Col. Kritsant Thonsupanat, Lt. Col. Santi Chuchert, Lt. Col. Thonapong Potthi, Lt. Col. Kittitat Kanchai, and Capt. Wachornchai Muayman.

Nanthawut called on officers to continue carrying out his policies, warning that abandoning them could see the gains the city has made in crime prevention disappear. He said if the opportunity arose again, he’d like to come back to Pattaya.
