Organized by the Royal Aeronautic Sports Association of Thailand as part of the ongoing Air Sea Land Games, the International Air Sports Federation event will be for owners of FA3 planes only.
Pattaya will play host to radio-controlled airplane enthusiasts in May.
RASAT President Weerayuth Dityasarin said Jan. 21 that Pattaya Airport will host the event, as it has all the facilities needed. Similar events have been held in Thailand for 30 years, he said.
Weerayuth said he hopes the competition will advertise the sport to youths, promote Thai participants to compete in international competitions, and promote Pattaya tourism.
