Boonlua Chatree

Area police arrested seven men suspected of dealing drugs to Pattaya jet ski vendors and tourist guides.

Region 2, Pattaya and Banglamung officers announced the arrest June 26 of speedboat driver Anont Sae-taew, 28, with 6.9 g. of crystal methamphetamines and 250 ya ba tablets; Thongchai Sriwiroj, 34, with 6.8 g. of ya ice, 17 methamphetamine pills and an account ledger; and Naruebet Sae-Yang, 29, half a gram of ice and four ya ba pills. Four other unidentified suspects were also arrested.

Investigators said they suspected Anont and Thongchai of dealing drugs to Pattaya Beach’s infamous jet ski drivers and guides taking tourists to Koh Larn. They used an undercover operative to buy drugs, and arrested the two once cash was exchanged.

Under interrogation, the two gave up tour guide Naruebet at the Pradap Yat apartments in central Pattaya who, in turn, gave up the location of four others.
