Central Festival Pattaya Beach and Banglamung Vocational College have joined forces to renovate toilets and beautify landscapes on temple grounds across the region.

More than 65 students volunteered for the environmental-preservation activity organized by the beachfront Pattaya shopping mall June 8 at Nong Or Temple in Central Pattaya, with plans for June 15 at Buddhiwararam temple in Krathinglai. For this year, the mall has planned projects for 10 communities and religious institutions.

Pattaya Permanent Secretary Pakorn Sukhonthachat and Central Department Stores Region 3 Director Saral Tantijumnan joined Central Festival General Manager Pairoj Bunjan at the June 8 event, which saw residents from the Nong Or temple and close by neighborhoods join in the temple cleanup.

Nong Nooch Tropical Garden was just one of the sponsors to donate plants and flowers to spruce up the temple grounds as vocational students renovated restrooms to bring old toilets into clean, working order again.

Saral said the renovations were one way Central can repay the public for its patronage and support. Pakorn added that the project was also in line with city goals to improve the quality of living for residents.
