A group of Bangkok flood refugees were arrested in
Pattaya for passing time waiting to return home by playing cards.
Renter Duangdao Klomsinchai, 42, and card dealer
Prathuang Pumchang, 36, were among the 16 men and 6 women arrested at
the apartment on Soi Khopai Nov. 10. A single deck of cards and
unspecified amount of cash was seized.
Duangdao said she had rented a house in Pattaya after
her home in Bangkok’s Bang Khen District was flooded. She invited
neighbors, all facing similar circumstances, to spend their idle time
socializing and playing cards.
