Holiday Inn Pattaya Receives 3 Awards at IHG AMEA Leaders Meeting 2011

More than 300 of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) general managers and corporate leaders are gathering in Singapore for a three-day meeting, which focuses on IHG BrandHearted journey as the new Asia Middle East Africa (AMEA) region. The meetings are joined by global executives such as CEO Richard Solomons and SVP Global Brand Management Kevin Kowalski.

From these meetings many awards are announced to share the top performing hotels within IHG brands. Holiday Inn Pattaya was represented by Craig J. Ryan, general manager, who received 2 awards for the hotel’s superb achievements from the past year. The awards are:

1) Hotel Leader of the Year - Holiday Inn

2) Responsible Business - Manage Risk & Safe Hotel

Great companies need great leaders and great leaders need to bring our values and behaviors to life every day. The Hotel Leader of the Year award is judged by the 6 unique criteria of IHG leader competencies.

Holiday Inn Pattaya was also able to achieve the Responsible Business - Manage Risk & Safe Hotel award for the team’s effort in being the only IHG hotel in the region to have achieved the safety standard of ISO 22000.

Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya names newly appointed director of sales & marketing

Jorge Carlos Smith, GM of Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya announced the appointment of hospitality professional Ian Sutedjo as the new director of sales and marketing for Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya commencing on August 15, 2011.

Ian is passionate about sales and marketing as well as exceptional service delivery. His love of music, food and travel spills into everything he does, perfectly complementing the spirit of Hard Rock. No stranger to the Hard Rock brand, Ian brings to Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya eleven years of hospitality experience working at various position levels with responsibility for sales and revenue development across a wide range of diverse markets and cultures.

Most recently Ian served as director of sales and marketing at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, prior to that he worked with Hard Rock Hotel Bali, Shangri-La and Hilton Group. Ian will be responsible for maximizing overall revenue and fostering relationships with the newly renovated Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya.


Austin Robinson appointed GM for Nova Hotel & Spa Pattaya, Centara Boutique Collection and Centra Pattaya Resort

Austin Robinson.

Gerd Steeb, president of Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Austin Robinson as general manager of Nova Hotel & Spa Pattaya, Centara Boutique Collection and Centra Pattaya Resort.

Robinson is an Australian national who has a versatile background of experience in the hotel industry as general manager in many leading hotels in Australia, such as Novotel Lake Crackenback Resort, and as director of sales & marketing of Couran Cove Island Resort. He also has been area general manager for ten hotels in Port Douglas and Magnetic Island.

Prior to joining Nova Hotel & Spa Pattaya, Centara Boutique Collection and Centra Pattaya Resort, he was general manager of the Mantra Portsea.

Nova Hotel & Spa Pattaya, Centara Boutique Collection and Centra Pattaya Resort are both located in Central Pattaya, within walking distance of the beach and surrounded by entertainment and shopping outlets.
