Events
A joint American and British Chamber of Commerce Eastern
Seaboard Networking Evening will be held at Holiday Inn Pattaya on Friday,
September 23 from 6.30 - 8.00 p.m. The cost is THB 350 per person
(AMCHAM/BCCT members) & THB 1,100 per person for non members and admission
includes finger food and free flow beer and wine until 8:00 p.m. This event
is free of charge for those participating in the Joint AMCHAM/BCCT visits to
Dana Spicer and Visteon and traveling via the AMCHAM/BCCT provided

The Jesters Care for Kids Annual Gala Party Night will
take place on Saturday, September 24 at the Amari Orchid Pattaya starting at
7 p.m. A pre-dinner cocktail reception will be followed by an international

evening plus live entertainment and dancing. The Grand Raffle draw will

Ric O’Barry, star of the movie “The Cove”, will be a
special guest at the Regent’s School on Friday 30th September. He will
introduce his controversial movie “The Cove” and then take questions once it
has finished. All those interested are invited to come along for the talk
which begins at 6.30 p.m. at the Globe Theatre towards the front of the
school. This is a free event. If you cannot make Friday 30th September, Ric

Able the Disabled Foundation will be holding a Country
Fair at Horseshoe Point, Pattaya on October 1-2 and stalls are available for
vendors to showcase their products. Fair games for children will be running
from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and food sponsors will be selling plenty of delights
for all the family. The main event will be a Country & Western Night on
Saturday 1st October from 6.30 p.m. - 11 p.m. at the Hotel Grand Arena
Horseshoe Point. Tickets are available at THB500 adults and THB250 children.
Live country music will be performed by Barry Upton including his top hit
5.6.7.8. During the evening John Collingborne will be presenting a live
auction and other events on the night include a raffle, silent auction and

Clubs and Associations
The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC)
will be on Sunday, September 25. Everyone is warmly welcome. Ken Klein, an
author who has written several books about Thailand will be the guest
speaker. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea
restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid
Resort). The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast
available from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an
interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal
setting. The program is followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open
Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as
well as an update on events in and around Pattaya. A full report appears

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand
have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the
telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates
24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate
community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will
provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of
