Following his first Pattaya performance in January, well
known Korean tenor Kim Jun Man once again astounded the music enthusiasts of
our city with a full show of opera arias and modern contemporary love songs.
Korean
tenor Kim Jun Man was joined on stage by young students from The Regents
School.
Performed the day before Valentine’s Day the show was
appropriately titled ‘Romantic Moments in Pattaya’, and the performances
would have turned even the most cynical minds to romance.
As with his previous concert Mr. Kim was joined on stage
by several guests, including concert pianist Jamorn Supopol, soprano Sivipa
Prompiriya and Irish singer Michelle Collier.
Chinese harpist Tong Juan Wang traveled from Bangkok and
performed two solo numbers including a wonderful rendition of The Eagles
classic song ‘Hotel California’.
After the interval the choir from The Regents School
opened the second half with a beautiful version of ‘Beautiful World’. Mr.
Kim then joined the children on stage and together they sang the centuries
old ‘Panis Angelicus’, written by St. Thomas Aquinas.

Prior to the show many of the children were very nervous
to be singing on a large stage for the first time, but thanks to Steve
Tomlinson, Head of Music at The Regents School, and his teaching staff, the
children were well rehearsed and sang in tune and in harmony.
This concert will hopefully be the start of a new
movement in Pattaya to bring culture to the city, and to assist local
charities. The proceeds from this concert will be donated to the Father Ray
Foundation to help feed and clothe the 850 children and students with
disabilities.
