On October 30, the Charity Club of Pattaya’s annual Gala
Dinner went ahead at the Pinnacle Grand Resort & Spa Na Jomtien. The beach
had a lovely breeze, which kept everyone nice and cool.
The Pinnacle Grand laid on a spectacular buffet with the
tasty wine to accompany the food being donated for the second year by Mr.
Waller and Ron Keeley of the World of Wine. The wine was enjoyed to the very
last drop! So a big thank you to Ron Keeley and Mr. Waller.
As always, John Collingbourne <www.collinbourne-auctioneers.com>
was on hand to oversee the auction for us, so thank you John for your time.
The economy didn’t help with the auction this year, so John had to fight for
every baht!

Joe from the World of Wine deliver the wine to the Pinnacle Grand.

Absolute Sanctuary Samui; Six Senses; Banyan Tree Phuket; Massic Travel

Platinum Sponsor Pure Bliss went one step further and
donated Bvlgari gift sets on the evening, to the delight of the sponsors’
wives. So a big thank you to M.D. Antony Chapman. <www.pureblissthai.com>

The
live entertainment was provided by “Mandy and Willie” - a great couple who
normally sing in Jomtien.
All the prizes were claimed on the night, so no
outstanding numbers.
A special thank you also goes out to our Platinum
Sponsors for 2010: John Richardson of U.T.S. (Steel Construction Thailand);
Alan Bolton of Alan Bolton Property Consultants; John Seymour of Northern
Thai Realty; Tom Coghlan of C.S.P. Construction; Matvic (wholesale
butchers); E.F.S. (Expatriot Financial Services); C.E.A. (Cranes and
Equipment Asia); Pure Bliss (hotel amenities); Lodge Pattaya West Winds
1803SC and Steve Puttock.
The most import part of the evening was what did the
Charity Club raise? As numbers were well down on previous years, this also
reflected on the money they raised. But - they were still pleased with the
332,000 baht raised on the night.
